greatest books english language image

I'm studying to become a high school English Language Arts teacher and am creating a lesson based around The Great Gatsby. I'm looking for a good way to structure lessons on days where we have chapters to discuss. For instance, the homework assignment was reading the first two chapters. How do I go over these chapters and not be boring/lecture-y?
Thanks in advance!

What's the greatest work by Shakespeare...?

I just picked up my FIRST Shakespeare book which is "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and I would like to know If you think I've made a good decision.
I've noticed the writing is quite different from today's English. What type of English language is this and any tips on how I can't improve comprehension of his writing style?
Also, what makes Shakespeare's writing so great since I've heard he is widely considered to be the GREATEST writer of the English language?
Answer
Many of Shakespeares plays come with notes that will enhance your understanding and enjoyment of the works. As for the greatest, I am torn between Richard III, King Lear and Hamlet. They all have relevanance today and are often performed in modern day settings. I think you'll get a lot from them.
Happy reading. ;-)
