the reader had to pick which solution they would follow. There was quite a few books in the series. Depending on the choices made through the book determined the ending. Thats all I can remember...so if anyone else can think of anything let me know I would love to find these for my daughter.

Probably the Choose Your Own Adventure books, although there are an awful lot of variations on the theme.
You may want to look here and see if anything looks familiar: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Choose_Your_Own_Adventure_books

What books do you recommend for a 17 year old, almost 18 year old, girl?

You should read 'Let the Right One In' by John Ajvide Lindqvist. The story centers on the relationship between a 12-year-old boy, Oskar, and a centuries-old vampire child, Eli. It takes place in Blackeberg, a working class suburb of Stockholm, in the early 1980s. The book focuses on the darker side of humanity, dealing with issues such as bullying, drugs, theft, pedophilia, prostitution and murder as well as the obvious supernatural themes. You also watch Oskar fall in love with Eli, which is really sweet, but since they're so young it isn't all lovey-dovey. It really is a great book. I think I read it in one sitting.

Hope this helps, enjoy!
