I would suggest "beautiful creatures" a great book by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. It's one of the best books i ever! heres a little part from the book

What's a great book for teenagers?

I'm looking for a book that's not about that stupid ga ga teen romance puke fiction. I'm looking for a book that has meaning to it and is interesting. Preferably not in this time period. I'm also looking for a specific book not a list of them. If you could give a brief explanation that would be great.

My favourite book is 'A Spot of Bother' by Mark Haddon. It's funny, well-written and gives a great insight into peoples' minds, but it is set in the current period. Otherwise, I'd suggest 'A Thousand Splendid Suns'. It's about two women living in Afghanistan under Taliban rule, and is almost heartbreaking in some places.
