Looking for a really good site to download free e-books?

I've become a little disappointed in how limited the selection is on a lot of e-book sites. I've tried project gutenberg, and it's great, but there are a couple of newer titles I've been looking for that aren't even available on my device's respective ebook store. Does this just mean that these particular books are probably not available in e-book format yet? Any suggestions for websites that have a really good selection of e-books would be appreciated. THANKS!

theres 4shared.com. its not an e-book site, but i get most of my books from there. its basically where people just put stuff they have on the internet (music, pictures, books etc.) to share with other people, and they almost ALWAYS have what your looking for.

How do you sideload books to the Kindle Paperwhite?

I tried dragging and dropping books for the Kindle from Project gutenberg into the documents folder but they're not showing up in the kindle's collection.
The files are indeed .mobi

Just transfer them via USB from the computer and it should work. There's some detailed steps here, and see how to have the books show up:

Yes, the books get to be in recognized format, for reading on the Kindle.
