If you create a for-profit website and you quote information from various books, do you have to pay a royalty or anything?

There are legalities. You must accurately credit the quotes. Where you run into trouble is when you are using the quotes to support your cause when it isn't the position of the author. There are often disclaimers you are required to put up stating that quoted information does not constitute support of your product. It is often best to contact the publishing company and discuss what they will and will not allow.
**CAVEAT** I have 1-2 users that intentionally troll my answers to do nothing but automatically rate my answers with a thumbs down regardless of how accurate my answer is. Baby shower book and quotes?
Q. One of my very best friends is having a baby soon. For her baby shower, she wants books. I am trying to find a good book to buy. She is like an older sister to me so I want something that will tell the baby that he can think of me as family. Something along those lines.The only book that I came up with is stellaluna (a baby bat gets lost and some birds take care of it until it finds its mom again). Any book suggestions would be wonderful.
I am also trying to think of something to write in the book. I know it is suppose to be heartfelt...i just cant come up with anything really good, like a quote. If anyone could help me with that it would be wonderful! If you have a good quote let me know!
