The Mayor of Casterbridge Modern Library?

Hi we found this book called the Mayor of Casterbridge in our attic and I was wondering what it was worth. All I know is it was written by Thomas Hardy, it was printed in 1917. The cover page just say's The Modern Library and it has the Modern Library symbol.

The Mayor of Casterbridge (1886) is a tragic novel by English author Thomas Hardy subtitled, "The Life and Death of a Man of Character".

If it is not a first edition, it may not be worth much at all. Take the book to a book antiquarian and they will value it for you.
