Any really great teen romance books?

Manders12

I'm not looking for anything paranormal. I'm over my vampire stage. I want just a romance. I want one of those books that makes you want to cry when its over. I've read all the Sarah dessen books and loved them. Read Nicholas sparks but it's not really my thing. I'm looking for something like A Cinderella Story but in book form
I've read divergent. I enjoyed it. I forgot to add that I don't like to read books with sickness. I can't handle the death at the end, like a walk to remember.

Here are some imaginative romance stories that I like - thing Divergent meets Sarah Dessen:

Every Day by David Levithan. A spirit named âAâ wakes up in a different body every day, and has as long as he can remember. Resigned to that existence, everything changes when A wakes up in the body of Justin and meets the boyâs girlfriend, Rhiannon. Suddenly A wants to stay, and escape the day-by-day existence â because A has finally found someone he wants to be forever. But how can he escape the rules that govern his existence? Great romance.

Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta - Taylor finds herself the leader of her boarding school's Underground Community, whose mission is to battle their counterparts at an all-male Cadet encampment and the public high school. For two decades the three factions have waged a game of negotiation, pranks, and sometimes physical violence for control of paths, places, and facilities. One problem: Taylor might have a crush on the leader of the Cadets. The author weaves in a back story about how the whole war started, and how Taylor is unwittingly tied to it.

Catch Me Falling by David J. Nix. As a caged display in a traveling freak show, 18 year old Crissa endures stares, taunts, and whispers of a terrible word from others - Human. But folks come by thousands to hear her do what no other can do. Sing! In a âwhat-ifâ world where prehistoric Humans fell extinct and Neanderthals inherited the earth, Crissa's Human face marks her for abuse and grisly death. When a stranger with a face like hers appears, she flees with him from those seeking her death. Crissaâs flight carries her toward the mysteries of a murky past, her unusual face, and the wonderment of love and belonging.

If You Find Me by Emily Murdoch. Fourteen year old Carey has lived in the woods for ten years after being kidnapped by her meth-addicted mother. Left alone for weeks at a time, Carey has raised her younger sister, Janessa, surviving as best she can. When her father finds the girls, Carey begins the difficult process of joining a world that is foreign to her - home, family, school, and young love - while hiding the secret of the terrible thing that happened in the woods a year earlier.

These Broken Stars by Aimie Kaufman. Teenage Lilac is the only child of the richest man in the galaxy. Tarver is an 18-year old war hero, but a boy from a far inferior social class. When the two are the sole survivors of a spaceship crash on an unknown planet, they two must undertake a long journey to find rescue. Their initial disgust for one another slowly turns to love as they learn to respect one anotherâs strengths and weaknesses.

A Certain Slant of Light by Laura Whitcomb - Dead Helen attaches herself to one human host after another for 130 years, until she meets James, a kindred spirit who has occupied the living body of a teenage boy whose soul has left. When he teaches Helen to do the same with the vacant body of a teen girl, the pair begin a romantic relationship that mixes old-fashioned courting and modern morals. More importantly, they begin to unravel the mysteries of their pasts. Caution: the physical aspects of the romance are explicit.

Noughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman - In an alternate reality England, white-skinned people, called Noughts, are an underclass minority oppressed by a dark-skinned majority descended of Africans, called Crosses. Nought teenager Callum falls for Sephy, the daughter of a politically powerful Cross. As their romance grows, so does their safety in a society that does not tolerate racial mixing. When Callum's family is implicated in a terrorist act, the lovestruck teens face difficult choices. Regardless of your heritage, this story will lend you a new perspective on race and what it means to be human.
