I'm entering my Freshmen year of High School next year, and I'm taking Honors English. I have to do a summer reading essay, and I really want to impress my teacher. I've read many classic books, but they have all been made into movies. I need some suggestions, help?
Answer
A Confederacy of Dunces
this has been rumored to be in the works for a long time but was never made. the book is hilarious. originally John Belushi was supposed to be the lead, playing Ignatius J. Reilly. Chris Farley was then supposed to act in it. Many called it a curse.
The last rumor has Will Farrell playing Ignatius, but Hurricane Katrina wiped out plans to film it and you can't really film a story that is completely in New Orleans without the city of New Orleans in it.

What are some great books that have been made into movies?
Forever En
Or crappy books that have been made into great movies? Please specify and I WILL pick a best answer. No voting here. :p
Pardon, I like to read the book first THEN see the movie. I'm hardly lazy... I just read Jaws and it was nothing like the movie. It got me curious if anyone else has had disappointments like that. No rude answers people, I'm not trying to cheat. There's always one jerk. LOL
Answer
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky.
One of my favourite books and the movie is also one of my favourite movies. PERFECT representation of what the book stands for, it's just got some scenes/mature content taken out. Logan Lerman is exactly how I imagine Charlie in the books.
The Host by Stephenie Meyer.
Was a bit skeptical as Twilight isn't that great (it's written by the same author) but this is an adult sci-fi novel! Amazing yet long book. Apparently the film is a bit crappy though...I haven't seen the movie yet but it's just been released in cinemas where I live :) The actress for Melanie is perfect.
and....HUNGER GAMES. HARRY POTTER. DUH. YEAH. OBVS.
