What are some Buddhism books for beginners?

I'm interested in learning the fundamentals of Buddhism and how they can be applied to modern situations, and how to properly practice Buddhism,
Also books on meditation, and how that applies to Buddhism and how to make it easier to understand.
If anyone knows any books like that I would appreciate it!

I read "The Secret" book and I loved it. I started apply into my life and started to read books about meditation, quantum physic, positive thinking etc. Does anyone know what books would be very helpful?

"The Secret" is a scam, you cannot get what you want by just thinking about it. The universe does not care about me, you, or anyone else. Get real, if you want to be a success, work for it!
