Q. I'm searching for a novel along recognizably high literary levels please, but not boring. I have just finished reading 'Lolita' and that was one of the greatest books that I've ever read. I am searching for something with an exclusive style of writing that is as interesting as this one, as the book was ridiculously compelling and had my attention with every scholarly adjective, metaphor, and analogy used, in compliance with its useful and unrepentingly appropriate bad grammar (Pretty awful joke, eh?). It's perfectly tuned literary devices, and brilliant approach were enlightening as to what is possible with the English language. That's what I'm looking for. (Please no fake books, published Blank Co., written by some popular fraud.)

Answer
there's nothing else like "lolita" but here are some great 20th century novels/authors that blindsided me like nabokov did.

ford madox ford's "the good soldier"
e.m.forster "howard's end"
iris murdoch
graham greene (especially "the quiet american")
ralph ellison's "invisible man"
peter carey's "oscar and lucinda"
salman rushdie's "midnight's children"
michael ondaatje's "the english patient" (nothing like the movie)
jose saramago's "blindness"

What are some websites that i can go to sharpen my English language?

I am looking for websites that can help to sharpen my English language. I can understand English without a problem, but i often make grammar mistakes ( Subject-verb agreement, has-have-had, punctuation etc ) when it comes to writing. The website must not be too complicated looking if possible.

Please give suggestions , thanks!
