What are some great fantasy books to read?

My mom has been nagging me to read more so I've started. I read the Hobbit and now I'm hooked to reading. I then read Huckleberry Fin and was amazed by the story. So, what are some great books to read? I would prefer fantasy books, but anything is fine.

Two books by Kristin Cashore - Fire and Graceling. Also try Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings - they're pretty amazing. Tamora Pierce has incredibly well-developed stories and characters, but they're a bit YA, though once you start reading, you won't be able to put them down. I also enjoyed Terry Pratchet's books - he has a very nice sense of humour and amazing stories - whichever book you read, you won't be disappointed (though I do admit he is an acquired taste). You can also try Harry Potter if you haven't read the books. If you like horrors - Stephen King is the best - his books have always grabbed me from the first page. :) Hope this helps.

I need great books to read! My friend got on here and asked the same question and she found a LOT of great books to read and bought alot of them. I am thinking of starting a book list where when I get the book I can mark it off or something. Please help!
