I'm thinking of moving to Toronto or Vancouver after high school-would they be good fits for me?

I'm a junior at an American high school(in Massachusetts) and I've been thinking of going to UofT or UBC. I'm very introverted but I still have no problems making friends. I love the idea of living in a city that is multicultural, as I love to learn about other cultures. I'm very into the indie music scene. I enjoy talking about politics yet I don't often get the chance because most other teenagers where I live don't seem as interested in them (I'm very liberal by the way). I'm sure this makes me a complete nerd but I want to go to the World's Largest Bookstore in Toronto so badly, haha.

Which city has a better music scene?
Do you think I would enjoy one more than the other?
I have a 3.33 unweighted gpa (88% average in Canada) so would I be able to get into the two schools that I mentioned?
After university and eventually med school I want to be a psychiatrist. Is either city better for that career path?

Thank you for taking the time to read and answer this:)

Answer
They're both excellent schools, and depending on the program, an 88% should be okay. However, I entered at the bottom of the range in my program with an 89% overall.

UT compares well with UBC, but to be fair, UT and McGill (in Montréal) are Canada's clear leaders.

I don't think people actually hate Toronto if they aren't from Toronto - many of the people I've met from around the country and world at school, love Toronto to death. It's preference. Vancouver is vastly different than Toronto, its not really fair to compare.

Because Toronto is Canada's financial and corporate capital, you'll find that it is also the media and cultural capital as well. The indie scene is large.

Being liberal is great, of course, as Toronto is a very liberal city that is wildly multicultural and tolerant. Anything goes in Toronto.

The World's Biggest Bookstore is nothing more than an oversized Indigo/Chapters. But it's worth the visit no doubt.

Bon chance!
