Do you know of any good science fiction books for teens/young adults?
Natalie
It is for a book report. I have to read and complete the project in a month so preferably a fairly short (under 200-300 pages) book. Definitely no more than 300 pages and preferably interesting and appealing to a teenage girl.
Answer
Dragonsong by Anne McCaffrey has a teenage girl as the heroine in a world with dragons. It's an easy read and will get you hooked on a series.
Too Young a King by Ellen Anthony is also science fiction. The hero is trying to keep his ten year old king from being assassinated like his father and brothers. The king also has a 14 year old sister. Lots of action and if you like solid characters, it's good. The ending is not predictable.
The Rolling Stones by Robert A. Heinlein is available in audio as well as ebook and print. It's about the Stone family who live on the moon, but pack up and decide to take the whole family to Mars and the asteroid belt. The twin boys (Cas and Pol) are called the "Unheavenly Twins" for good reason. Their parents are down-to-Earth, but their father fears his own mother would be all too likely to fall in with the twins' schemes. A science fiction classic by a master.
