What are some good books for 8th grade girls?

My daughter turned 13 last week, and she wants 13 books to celebrate that. (You don't need to suggest 13, but it would help if you just suggested a couple.) She has already read The Twilight series, and other books as well. If you are a female teen or preteen, if you could just say some books that you've loved, liked, or liked a little, that would be great. If you aren't, if you could suggest some books your female granddaughter, niece, daughter, cousin, neighbor, etc. that would be great, too. Thank you!

Sweethearts by Sara Zarr was a really cute book. I read it when I was 14 and it's my favorite book.

I know a great inspirational book for your teen girls Bible study group! Try Soul Surfer: A True Story of Faith, Family, and Fighting to Get Back on the Board by Bethany Hamilton. It's about a 13 y.o. girl who is attacked by a shark while surfing in Hawaii. She talks about how God strengthened her through the entire ordeal. The book also has interesting photos of Bethany with her family and friends. Only 213 pages.
