greatest books philosophy image
Q. I'm looking for a great book to begin studying philosophy. Any recommendations? I'm most interested in free will, morality, and consciousness.
Answer
Plato's "Symposium" is a great place to start if you want a firm base of classical philosophy and the philosophy of love. It incorporates a lot of the ideas associated with "Greek Love" though, carrying plenty of undertones of homo-eroticism and phallic symbols. It's interesting to read, nonetheless. I was a fan of Nietzsche and highly recommend "Human, All Too Human" as well.

What are the greatest books of all time?

I want to add some great books to my collection. I don't like history, but do like philosophy and psychology and pretty much anything but history.
