There are many online websites for printing presses that do not offer thin quality gloss stock like you see in normal magazines (the stock is all 70# or higher). What stock do the nationally distributed magazines like Elle, GQ, Women's health/Men's health use? Thanks!
Answer
US measurements would normally be about 60# gloss book. Depends a little
on which magazine and what finish they have on the sheet.

Are fashion magazines good drawing reference for a manga artist?

I'm thinking about subscribing to a few fashion magazines like elle, men's fashion, and gq for human and clothing reference. Is there a better way to start a reference library?
Answer
I use magazines for manga references.
Mainly for Poses and background scenery,But for clothes too(If I can find some cool clothing references).
I always get free magazines from libraries, when they don't want the magazines anymore. I always find architecture and fashion magazines.
But I never keep the whole magazine.I look through them and find good references, clip them out, and paste them in a sketch book or something.
