The actual story of Harry Potter takes place in seven volumes.
Jo also wrote two companion books for charity, called "Quidditch Through the Ages" and "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," which are meant to be like miniature versions of Harry's school books.

She's also been mentioning a certain "Hogwarts: A History" (as the fans have named it), which will be an encyclopedia of extra events, information and other fun stuff that just couldn't fit into the series.
