How do I add a book on Goodreads without being a "librarian"?

I have just joined Goodreads. I have read and review twenty books so far and all was going well until I saw that three books I want to read, review and share are not in their inner catalogue (I checked by ISBN and ASIN). So, I want to add them. I did not understand the directions for "importing" a book at all. I emailed them and got another answer I did not understand. How do I add these books, review and share if they are not on the site. Do I have to be a Librarian? The directions are terrible.

Have you searched for the book by title and author? They may not have the exact print of your book so it won't match the ISBN, but, presumably will have the same content. And you're review would be visible on any version of the same book.

Is there a website where you can discuss books on forums and stuff?

I am looking for a well organized website to discuss books with people because I love books. (Who would have guessed) I would like it too if like the forums were seperated by genre or something, I would also like if it had a large community. And maybe have your profile have kind of like a bookshelf on books and authors you like and what not.
