When writing book reviews, are you allowed to quote excerpts from the book? Or do you need to ask permission from the author first?

As you can imagine for a book review website it would be extremely time consuming to track down and request permission from every author.

And finally, how do other book review sites handle this issue?

Thank You.

Answer
No, you don't need to ask permission to quote from a book for purposes of the review. You are actually providing, at the very least, the book's title, the author's name, ISBN, and publishing house. If you are reviewing using a "galley" however, publishing houses specifically request that you use a final copy of the book to do so, as galleys and the final version of the book may have differences.

As a P.S. you can write a review without necessarily quoting the author, so for clarification, no, it is not compulsory to quote from a book when writing a review .

What would be a good Web site to make for a computer class?

I'm in a computer class and we're learning HTML stuff and how to make a Web site. Please keep in mind that it has to include an ordered (number) list and an unordered (bullet) list, along with much, much more.

What I had in mind before I got the Requirements, a book review site, but I'm not sure how it will look with 2 different types of lists.

Answer
a porn site
