What are some good 9th grade level book not made into a movie?

I have a book report for my English HP, but I can't find any! This is what my teacher wants:
9th grade level
Around 290-300
An it can't be made into a movie
Please if you have anything sorta interesting, that'll really help. I just hate reading boring books. So yeah, thank you!

If you can do it over a fictional book, I recommend "The Warded Man" if you are in the US. If you live in the UK, it's called "The Painted Man".

What were the names of the books you read in 9th grade literature? I'm about to go into high school, and they didn't give us a summer reading list, but I read books like "To Kill A Mockingbird" by Harper Lee, "Romeo and Juliet" by Shakespear, "Great Expectations" by Charles Dickens, and almost all of Jane Austen's books. What else do you recommend?


By the way, I'm in an honors course, if that changes things at all?

I'm going into grade 9 and the books we had to buy for school are Romeo and Juliet, Animal Farm, and Fahrenheit 451
