what are some good books i can read with a 4th grader? they can be chapter books or books with pictures, but with ideas and words that are more suited for a fourth grade level.
Answer
We read "Holes" by louis sacher(i believe) in 4th grade.. you could try that.
You can also try "The Giver". It isn't very long. The words aren't tough. The theme requires some thought, but a 4th grader should be able to handle this book. Also, it has some good life lessons in it. So it goes beyond just reading, as any book should. It's amazing.
Also, the giver has 2 sequels ("The Messenger" and "Gathering Blue"). But not direct sequels, meaning it's 3 different stories that eventually tie in together. These two are a little harder than "The Giver", though. once the student is at a higher level then you should check out the rest.
