I am taking the standard GRE test (not the subject-specific one). Anyone have any suggestions about good books or materials to help me prepare for it?
Answer
There is the Princeton Review's book which you can purchase here: http://www.randomhouse.com/princetonreview/graduate/?coupon=prbstore&ref=affpr&from=princetonreview or if you would like more choices check out the list of books at Barnes & Nobles here http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/results.asp?WRD=gre&z=y&cds2Pid=9481
Good Luck!!!

If I'm going to take the GRE this october should I buy the guide books that are 2007 edition or 2006 edition? Does it matter? And which are the best to get?
Answer
You should definitely buy the 2007 edition as there are changes to the GRE this year. I know for a fact that they are changing how tests are done (there is only one test at a set time per day as opposed to the current random questions from the test bank). They are also playing around with the analytical sections but I'm not sure if that has changed yet.
As for me, I used Kaplan and did well. I don't think the brand matters as much. They essentially say the same thing; you just have to find the one that works with your personality.
