Queen of h

Hey i am very interested in books on the plague and the holocaust.

I don't want history books i just want story with either fictional characters or people who experienced it. Some books i really enjoyed were "milkweed" and "Night". I haven't read any books on the plague except for one but i didn't really like it so i won't name it (lol.

(oh and to be clear i mean the Black plague (and NO I DON'T WANT A MEDICAL BOOK I WOULD LIKE A STORY).

Answer
A book about the Plague I would recommend is Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks (novel). It takes place in 1666 in a small village where an infected bolt of cloth is brought there from London. The villagers follow the advice of the minister until almost every household is affected by the disease. The main character is a young widowed mother. A very good read.

RE: the Holocaust. In fiction I recommend Those Who Save Us by Jenna Blum (novel). A young woman is working on a documentary on life in Germany during WWII. She & her Mom had been rescued by an American soldier, but that's about all she knows of her previous life. She has a picture of her Mom, a Nazi soldier, & herself & she tries to find out why her Mom is ashamed. Another good read.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak (novel) is about a young foster girl living in Nazi Germany when the books are banned. She resorts to stealing books, even from the mayor's wife even though she runs a considerable risk in doing so. Very good.
