I have to read a choice book for English class and then do a book talk on it. Any suggestions of a great book which is good for a book talk that is high school appropriate?
I was thinking of Thirteen Reasons Why or The Book Theif but I'm not sure anymore. Any opinion of these if you have read them?
Thanks!
Answer
I haven't read Thirteen Reasons Why, but I've heard it's a very good book. Not sure if I'd read it because it's a little sad for me, given that it's about a girl who commits suicide and a boy trying to figure out why. I have read most of The Book Thief and it was brilliant. I'd recommend you read that one. It's told in a very unique way.
Other books you could do are Lord of the Flies, Great Expectations (this one is a little harder, Dickens' sentences are so long and it can get a little confusing) or The Picture of Dorian Gray.

P.S.. I just finished Looking for Alaska by John Green...I loved it!
I read Twilight last year and I LOVED it!
So, please stop recommending Twilight.
