Good horse books for 5th grade girl who reads above grade level?

I'm looking for a list of novels that feature horses as the main character (like Black Beauty) and/or about girls and their horses. My niece has recently gone horse-crazy and I am looking for some gift ideas for her birthday. She reads at a 6-7 grade level.

White Ghost Summer...might be out of print, try the library? Excellant story though.

The Trixie Belden series came back, wholesome stories about a group of kids and mysteries, no violence, and horses.
