HI i have to read a book for english over the break, it can be any book, which hasnt been made into a movie and is atleast 100 pages. I was thinking about reading breaking dawn by stephenie meyer. is that a good choice??? I have read the other ones (twilight, new moon, eclipse) and i love them. Would that be a good read, i dont know the assignment yet, so do you think it is appropriate for school? if you have any other good ones please tell me!
thanks:D
Answer
okay.. that might seem kinda "childish" depending on your teacher.. 1984 is a very difficult book to get into and slightly hard to understand depending on your grade level..
a few good books i've read
The Goddess of Yesterday
Tut and the Girl Who Loved Him
Farenheit 451 (also slightly difficult to get into)
Ellen Hopkins is a GREAT writer if your into poetry (all her books are written in poem form) ("Burned", "Crank", "Glass" (sequil to "Crank"), "Impulse", "Identicle")
Natasha Friend is also a great writer and has many books about situations that teenage girls are going through ("Perfect", "Lush", "Bounce" and she just made a 4th one where all 3 girls meet.. dont know what its called though)
The Giver
Tex
Flowers for Algernon
i've read (with the exception of Friend and Hopkins) all these books for school.. they were recommended by the teacher

What is the greatest book you can read? A book that every English speaker should read?
ghost
Answer
For kids: Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis
For teens: Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling
For teens and adults: Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkein
For adults: All of the books by Stephen King
These books are all fantasy. I basically read nothing but fantasy, but here are some great books out there which are not fantasy:
-To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee (for teens-adults)
-A Little Princess (for pre-teens)
-The Little Prince by some French guy (for kids)
-Hound of the Baskervilles (for pre-teens to adults)
-All of the Sherlock Holmes stories (for anyone)
