A lot of books you pick up in the store have the "#1 New York Times Bestseller" written on the cover. So what does it take to actually get that credential to put on a book???
Thanks in advance :)
Does anyone know HOW many copies are needed?
Answer
Books sales are all you need. The New York Times simply publishes lists of best selling authors and their featured work. Once your book sells enough copies and the NYT publishes your name on that list you are in!

Seymour Hersh books, written while at New York Times?

This is kind of an odd question, and i don't know how well anyone will be able to answer but w/e: i'm writing a profile paper on Seymour Hersh for my highschool journalism class, and i'm having trouble finding dates that agree with each other from different sites. can ANYONE tell me what books Seymour Hersh (My Lai massacre coverage in '69, Project Jennifer in '74, etc.) wrote while working for the New Yorker, or between 1970 and 1980. and what the dates they were written in? the paper is due on the 27th. so i doubt i'll get an answer...but i thought i'd give it a try.
or anything on the dates of ANY books he wrote. whatever anyone can give me.
Thanks

Just check out wikipedia and amazon, all the data you need is there. Then to cross-check, go to the sites of the publishing houses to confirm your findings.
