Erik
There are several periodicals in English that contain book reviews, such as NY Review of Books (http://www.nybooks.com/), London Review of Books(http://www.lrb.co.uk/), and Times (of London) Literary Supplement (http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/t... ).
Does anyone know of a similar publication in Spanish for Spanish language books? Presumably this would be published either in Spain or in one of the Latin American cities..
Thanks.
Answer
The weekly Spanish review that is most comparable to the Sunday "N.Y.Times Book Review" is the excellent supplement, "Babelia" that appears with "El Pais" in Spain. http://www.elpais.com/suple/babelia/
(Whenever we visit my in-laws in Madrid, everyone in the family fights for a turn to read this literary magazine in the same manner that book lovers in N.Y. grab for the N.Y.Times review.)
In addition, here's a link http://www.elcastellano.org/literatu.html
to the Academia list of recommended literary reviews from all over the Spanish speaking world. The items under the "Revistas literarias" heading may be of interest to you.
Good luck.

Answer
First, you do not write a NY Times best seller.
You write a good book and it becomes a best seller.
(If you are lucky)
Many people who try to write a "best seller" or "Classic" film, end up bombing in both markets.
If you think you have a good book get yourself an agent. Most publishers will not talk to unpublished authors.
Grab a copy of Writer's Digest (Why aren't you reading this already????) and they will have directions on how to get an agent and how to get your book published.
Good luck.
