What are some great YA non-fiction books?

hJames

I've read a lot of fiction, but I'd like to read non-fiction too. I just don't know where to start.

and many people I know really want to read it, I have utmost faith that it will be a best seller. I have already paid hundreds to an editor and will be receiving the final PDF copy in a few weeks I send and receive emails daily with him. I have already in hand a loan for the printing process and IBSN registration and what not.

Should I just pay 1000$ to some literary agent and ask him to write a book proposal?

Answer
If you are self-publishing a book, the burden is on you to promote it and market it. It won't be easy. I work in one of the big bookstore chains and we do not stock self-published books unless there is a great demand from customers for it.

Why would you want to pay a literary agent? An agent's job is to get you a contract with a major publisher. As you are self-publishing your book, there's no reason to involve an agent, not unless your book becomes popular enough that mainstream publishers are interested in picking it up. (Which does happen from time to time.)

Instead of spending money on an agent, spend it on a literary publicist. That's what you'll need to get your book sold.
