What are some great modern and/or slightly futuristic war books?

I love the more realistic Tom Clancy like war novels, I'm a big fan of Oliver North. I prefer the books that focus more on the military aspect of war.

One novel is The War in 2020, which sees more flexibility, smaller units, and greater firepower in a conflict 10 years in the future. The novel was written several years ago by an experienced military novelist.
Taking it out about 50 or 60 years, I love Ian Douglas's Semper Mars, which is oriented on the USMC, and has some very interesting aspects of future war in this century. It is the first in a series.
I always smile when I think of beer cans and Mars and Marines in the same thought.
