Public domain books that teaches Spanish or Latin?

Ariel

Do you know of any books in the public domain that help with learning foreign languages? Specifically, either Spanish or Latin.

Thank you in advance! :)
I just noticed that I made a mistake in my question and it's bothering the grammar police in me. It should say, "Public domain books that teach..."

Answer
I'm not sure for Spanish, but for Latin, there's a great book called "Wheelock's Latin" that teaches well to absolute beginners. It's very grammar oriented so I don't know if that's a turn off for you because it is, most unfortunately, for most people. You can find it at most any Barnes and Noble in the language section. I've heard talk of the book "Lingua Latina per se illustrata" but I can't say with any certainty how good it is as a learning source.

Recommend some great free kindle books?

I've just got my kindle, may I just say it is absolutely amazing, I love it! And so, I haven't got many books on it at the moment, there are so many books on there and I would really appreciate if you could recommend me some really good free ones that I can get from the store. I'm asking for fiction books, mainly fantasy, but good romance or adventure is great too!

Thanks :)

Answer
They usually have specials, but not a lot of literature that comes out today is free on Kindle. Normally, older authors are published freely on Kindle, as most of it is in public domain. Oscar Wilde, a British playwright from the 19th century is free on Kindle, and I highly recommend him. Older romances might be free, such as Lady Chatterly's Lover, but I'm not sure.
