Some of my favorite books are
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (Kesey)
1984 (Orwell)
A Clockwork Orange (Burgess)
IT (King)
Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas (Thompson)
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Adams)
What are some SPORTS books that would be recommended to me?
Answer
There is a great sports book out called Murderer's Row - short stories by famous writers involving murder and baseball.
There are tons of great sports bios for every sport.
You may be too old for them but Mike Lupica who is a NY sports reporter writes a lot of fiction.
You also might like Eight Men Out: The Black Sox and the 1919 World Series by Eliot Asinof.
Also the new editon of Ball Four by Jim Bouton or The Bronx Zoo by Sparky Lyle. Both hilarious books about the NY Yankees of the 70's.
But by far the best is Shoeless Joe by WP Kinsella - the basis for Field of Dreams. An absolutely outstanding work.

i am looking for a good sports book in school so what is your favorite sports book?
Answer
If you want to read about history and sports, try Dick Schaap's autobiography, "Flashing Before My Eyes." It is the best autobiography I've ever read and Schaap is one of the most important sportswriters ever, however you might not get it because it focuses on sports before the year 2000.
Another great story is Gale Sayer's book, "I Am Third." There is no actual "Brian's Song" book, however the movie Brian's Song was based on "I Am Third."
If you like current sports books, read Mike Greenberg's autobiography "Why My Wife Thinks I'm an Idiot."
