Hi guys, i am looking for a book that would be good for teaching me to understand the basics of psychology, interesting things about why people do what they do and understanding things. Am also looking for one that can give me ideas about manipulating people in everyday life -friends etc.

the psycological one i dont want to be to technical

i would like it to give me advise e.g body language, the way people react, what to say etc. i imagine it being in a 'manipulation for dummy's' style

Well honey you sure chose an interesting "subject" -smile- and I've done some research on the matter....Here's what I came up with:

by Murray Oxman

Product Description
Who would have thought that someday we'd be coining a new axiom? Remember this old one? Never judge a book by its cover. Here's a new one for you: Never judge a book by its size.
It's only natural to wonder if a book this small could really offer that much in content and substance. Please allay your concerns: Murray Oxman has a writing style that somehow puts more help in a few pages than you would believe possible.

And perhaps you're asking: "Just what makes this book special; worth my hard-earned money?"

Well, here's your answer: It's all about revealing insights into human nature. If you're at all interested in what makes people tick, you'll love this very special small book. It's a great read.

Enjoy!

Actually....all you need to do is go to : www.amazon.com
and put in your "request"/subject and there you'll find a "zillion" of books from----Basic Psychology, Fifth Edition (Hardcover)
by Henry Gleitman---- until----The Definitive Book of Body Language
By Kendra Van Wagner, About.com

The Definitive Book of Body Language is a great resource for anyone who wants to gain a better understanding of body language. Learn more about how to interpret the nonverbal behavior of other people as well as how to use body language to send the right signals.

Now....let's come to te most fascinating issue of manipulation (which we experience constantly in our daily lives) and here are some interesting facts for ya:

Tricking people into doing what you want them to do is much simpler than it may seem- all it takes is a general understanding of how people make their decisions. Most day-to-day things that the average person decides upon are mundane and unimportant. It is for this reason that those choices are usually made on a whim, that is, the end result could go one way or the other. Because you always want what is best for you, it is vital that you do everything you can to sway those everyday deliberations in your favor. You may be surprised to learn how much you can benefit just by changing one choice someone in your life makes- hell, it has worked wonders for me. You too can become a deceitful snake of a human being! Follow these five simple steps and you will be well on your way to reaping all of the perks of manipulating your friends and enemies.

This subject is sooooooo interesting and here's where you can get further "insight" into the matter:

Pouf !!! Now I hope with the above information you'll be able to "sell ice-cubes to the eskimo's" -ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha- At least I've provided you with sufficient material to keep you busy for a while....-smile- It sure is a most fascinating subject and I hope you'll enjoy putting the theory into action...-smile-
