what are some great adventure books that i can read online for free?

thankyou very much

Answer
Classic recommendation (for free at http://www.gutenberg.org (The Gutenberg Project, which collects classics)):

Read some Rafael Sabatini--'Scaramouche' is about a swordsman in Revolution-era France who has to hide out in a comedy troupe in order to get his revenge on the aristo who killed his Republican friend; 'Captain Blood' is about a doctor forced to turn pirate after being sold into slavery in the Caribbean; 'The Sea-Hawk' is about an English gentleman who becomes a Muslim corsair after being framed for a murder. All of these 3 made excellent movies too.

Modern recommendation (not for free):

The Locke Lamora series ('Lies of Locke Lamora,' 'Red Seas Under Red Skies' thus far--a new novel due out in February, if I recall correctly) is about a con artist in a fantasy-tilted Venetian setting whose cons have real consequences and whose adventures are full of excitement and daring (Impersonating mafia crime lords! Hunted by a magical guild! Matching wits with the duke's Spider (secret-agent police chief)! Losing at gambling and forced to turn fake-pirate! Still being hunted by that magical guild!). It's fantasy, but it's much more adventure than fantasy. Both books thus far are excellent, bar none.

Enjoy! You might also like The Count of Monte Cristo and all other Dumas novels, and the Scarlet Pimpernel series, all of which are available at the Gutenberg Project as well.

Good Adventure Books?

Q. Preferably one where the main character(either human or animal) goes on a journey.

Answer
If you want to read a classic, read Count of Monte Cristo - great adventure. If you want to read a more modern adventure book, read Into Thin Air by John Krakauer. Great book describing the tragic day when several climbers were killed on Mount Everest.
