Does anyone have any suggestions on a special cookbook for kids? Iâm introducing cooking to my son and I want him to start learning how to cook! Does anyone have any good books they have used with their kids? Is it easy to understand? Iâm not looking for a Julia Childâs cookbook but something easy and not to expensive? Thanks so much!!

Start at the library and see what they have. That way you can look at one and try it out before you buy. There are currently loads of kids' cookbooks. Here are some examples:

Why do people write new kids books?

If kids are new to this world, then why do people always come out with new kids books. If Dr. Seuse has been working since the 50's, why try to fix something that isn't broken. Also, why new kids shows?

People will always buy the newest and latest version of anything. Its partially human nature and partially that books, children's books in particular have gotten much better over the years with the introduction of new computer programs like Photoshop and Illustrator which avail illustrators with a whole new world in regards to what they can accomplish artistically. The printing methods have also gotten better making books more colorful and visually appealing. There is no limit to creativity and what I see is a trend towards books now that are helping children to understand difficult life events like the death of a pet, or a loved one. Very good books that help teach morals, family values and great educational books which help children develop their vocabulary all made even better by the glossy, beautifully vibrant illustrations in the modern, cute style. I love taking my children to Barnes and Noble to pick out a new book. Its the highlight of their week! They have a huge book collection spanning traditional time tested favorites like Dr. Seuss, Amelia Bedelia and the Golden Books that my Mom read to me as a little girl and then all the newer ones like the Jan Brett stories, If you Give a Mouse a Cookie, and updated versions of the Three LIttle Pigs, Goldilocks, Cinderella and others. I believe Jan Brett's books have some of the richest watercolor illustrations I've ever seen. She is just briliant! Its all about the wonder of discovering new worlds in the books and the happiness it brings the little ones.
