Any good websites/books 4 the Korean War?

Q. I have an essay and my thesis is that the Korean war was actually a proxy war.....

Best books about the Korean War?

E

I already asked a similar question in books and authers but was told to come here.
I'm writing a novel and to appropriately get into the setting I need historically accurate books about the Korean War (non-fiction, or historical-fiction).

I would also appreciate some book suggestions about what shape the homefront (U.S.A) was in during WWII.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Misspelled authors like a dingbat.

I am recommending 3 books here for you, they each have excellent sources in the bibliography section that you can scan through as well.

"The Korean War" by Sir Max Hastings (1987)
"Coldest Winter: American and the Korean War" by David Halberstam (2008)
"The Last Stand of Fox Company" by Bob Drury and Tom Clavin (2009)

Each book above brings a good view of the war though the last one gives a good account of one particular unit of Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division during the war and more or less shows the impact of the war on Infantryman. The first two books go over a good overview and provide sample stories of the horror that laid within that war.
