Hi, I am looking for a great mystery/crime book. Any suggestions?

Answer
Any John Grisham novel. For example:

- The Last Juror: a crime happens in a small town where a young guy (in his twenties) has just bought the newspaper, so he boldly writes about the rape and murder, practically condemning the murderer as guilty before his trial. Then here's the exciting part: several years later the murderer gets out of jail and comes back to the town...

- The Client (there is also a movie): a young boy and his little brother witness a suicide of a high-profile lawyer (lawyer to a mobster who is speculated to have killed a senator). Before his suicide, it is likely he told the little boy where the senator's body is hidden. The boy is afraid to tell where the body is to the police (who are nagging him to tell) because then the mob will be after him. He gets himself a lawyer and then the adventures begin. This is one of my favourite books of all time! I really recommend it.

Also, Dan Brown novels are good for mystery, and some Stephen King ones too. Have fun reading!

What are some good mystery books for teenagers?

Melissa

I'd like books that require real wit and thinking like Agatha Christie (not those books that are mostly adventure). Can anyone recommend some great crime/mystery books other than Agatha Christie? I love her books- she has such a clever mind to think of some of those solutions. :D

Answer
Caroline B. Cooney writes great mysteries. I read They Never Came Back about a 15 y.o. named Cathy Ferris, the new girl in school with a past she's trying to hide.

You should also try books by Lois Duncan. Her mysteries have more of an edge to them, like Don't Look Behind You and I Know What You Did Last Summer.
