Was it the Bible? (That book one of the oldest most popular books and is the all time greatest selling book of all time. )They seem to talk about ghosts in there. You know like the holy ghost. And was the holy ghost jesus' spirit? I mean does anyone know how a ghost actually got here? Do people's conclusions about ghosts come from the the holy ghost. I don't think anyone really knows what a ghost is but maybe they've seen something weird and called it a ghost.
More than one question I know but just make the best of it.
Answer
Okay. Let's start with the "Holy Ghost" who tends to be referred to today as the "Holy Spirit". This is not the ghost of Jesus (who, in any case was held to have risen from the dead and ascended corporeally (ie with his mortal body) into Heaven. Without getting too complicated, the Holy Spirit is one of the distinct Holy Persons who makes up the Triune (threefold) One God.
The references in the Old Testament, however, refer to an attribute of God or an unseen force.
There is no connection between the "Holy Ghost" (which is actually a translation using the term "ghost" in a way that we do not now use the word) and the modern concept of "ghost".
As to the earliest mention; The Epic of Gilgamesh which dates to the second Millenium BC is actually a story about Gilgamesh and his the ghost of his dead friend, Enkidu. However the concept of supernatural beings, and the "spirit" of living things will almost certainly have gone back to before writing was invented, in other words, to prehistory.

Especially old ones cuz I love the smell of old books hahaha I don't know if that's weird.. So I would like to know what the top 20 best selling books of all time are.
Answer
That depends on the language, if you accept translated versions (not everyone in the
world reads - nor writes - in english), if you take into account new / updated versions.
