cite a titled excerpt from a book retrieved from a website in conjunction with an interview on a radio show?

Stephanie

"The War on Tap Water" is an excerpt from Peter H. Glieck's book, Bottled and Sold:The Story Behind Our Obsession with Bottled Water, published by Island Press in 2010. The excerpt was retrieved from www.npr.org. National Public Radio posted the excerpt in conjunction with an interview with Glieck on the NPR show, Fresh Air.

How would I cite this? I have found how to cite excerpts from websites but nothing on if those websites happen to be radio shows.. Please help!!!

Answer
Cite by the author. In the works cited entry, give the author and book info, then say "quoted on" and give the website info. When you have questions like this, think about what is the best way for your readers to find your source quickly and reliably. In this case, the book is a more stable reference, so your readers need that info, and then you acknowledge the website because NPR did the actual research. Of course, if you are doing serious research that you expect to publish, you should work from the primary source - that is, get the book and read it for yourself.

Dem Spin - There are death threats against the author of this book. Is that coming out against it? Read my links.

Answer
Because to the leftist a tea party coloring book constitutes a thought crime that should be prosecuted.
