Lately I've been interested in memoirs and biographies, and all of them have been set in Asia (Confessions of a Yakuza, Iron and Silk). I was wondering if there were any great books about life abroad or people traveling/living in a foreign country (they don't have to be just in Asia, that's just what I have so far).
Thanks!

Answer
There are a ton of travel blogs online now, if you want something here, now and free ;)

Two of my favorite ones are Girl Solo in Arabia and The Lost Girls.

However, one of my favorite books of all time is "The Roads to Sata" written by Alan Booth. It takes place in the early 80s, and he walked from the northern most tip of Japan to the southern most tip. It is a hysterical read, and his writing is just fantastic.

And if you want a bit of travel history, A Tramp Trip: How to See Europe on Fifty Cents a Day (published in 1887) is pretty hysterical as well. I have an actual copy, but I've left the link below, since it's in the public domain, you can get it from Google for free.

Can someone recommend a great book about Napoleon's personal life?

Q. Can someone recommend a great book about Napoleon's personal life? Not really interested in the military aspects, although I realize the two are hard to separate.

Also, any good historical fiction on Napoleon or Josephine?

Answer
Napoleon A Biography by Frank Mclynn is a good book, it tells about his life and military career.

Some books you can download

This is a good site that has loads of information on Napoleon and a whole section devoted to Napoleon's life.
