I am going to write a report about 2 of Kurt Vonnegut's books (1 book and 1 short story). I have chosen the short story "Harrison Bergeson". What is a book by Kurt Vonnegut that is similar enough with it so I can compare and contrast?
Answer
I would pick "Player Piano" (sometimes called "Utopia 14")
Both works revolve around a dystopian future for different causes. Whereas Harrison Bergeson's dystopia revolves around complete egalitarianism, "Player Piano" is a dystopia caused by complete automation.

What is the Kurt Vonnegut book and the exact quote?
The Twins
There's a novel or a short writing by Kurt Vonnegut (I think) about the death penalty that really moved me, and I was planning on using it in a persuasive essay about the death penalty. The quote is a person's last words while sitting on the electric chair (about to be executed, obviously). His/her last words are: "Well, I guess I learned my lesson," or something to that extent. I really need the source so I can correctly cite this phrase, but cannot for the life of me find it! Please help!
