Mom of One
Those of you that have toddler or toddler grandchildren, what are some of their favorite books? My daughter loves the Sandra Boynton series, but I think she's getting too old for them. What would you specifically recommend for a 4 year old?

Answer
Some of these my kids loved, and some the preschool and kindergarten at my school love.
King Bidgood's in the Bathtub, Jubal's Wish and Elbert's Bad Word by Audrey Wood
Alice the Fairy and No David! (series) by David Shannon
Knufflebunny and Knufflebunny Too by Mo Willems
Animalia, The Eleventh Hour, and Uno's Garden by Graeme Base
Skippy Jon Jones (series) by Judy Schachner
Purplicious and Pinkalicious (and other colors) by Victoria and Elizabeth Kann
Fancy Nancy by Jane O'Connor
My girls also loved to have me read Shel Silverstein's poetry books, Where the Sidewalk Ends, Falling Up, and A Light in the Attic. They were big on the 'Look and Find' type books, like I Spy. We'd compete to see who could find them faster. There are some I Spy books that are a little easier for a younger child.
