I know nothing about programming, but I want to develop Iphone Apps.
Would the book, Objective-C 2.0 (2nd Edition) [Paperback], be a good start?

Only if it covers beginner topics.
Ultimately, it really doesnt matter which "language" you learn first, as long as you are learning the fundamentals of programming logic (I'm sure some would argue as they probably have a "fav" language, blahblahblah).
I personally learned QBasic then C then C++ then Java then VHDL/Verilog. In between that I've done some simpler stuff like VB, VBscript, JavaScript, Prolog, Lisp, etc, etc...
I would suggest C or C++ or Java (actually I would probably suggest C, but the other two are fine) to start with.
It appears from reading the first 2 pages that the writer attempts to not teach C but instead to teach you all you need to know to program Objective-C (OOP lang.) on a moderate level.
So, bottom line, if you are ONLY interested in developing iPhone Apps and are not really interested in learning any theory behind programming then I would think that book would be fine.

What does the digits 0 to 9 written on the copyrights page of a novel or book signify?

On the copyrights page (page where the year of publication, legal rights etc are given in small print) of most of the books the digits 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 or 1 3 5 7 9 2 4 6 8 0 etc are written in a font and size of rest of the page. What does it signify?

The print runs. ALl the numbers are there for the first print run (are you sure there's 0?), and then they take one off for each subsequent printing. So if you only have 10 9 8 7, it's the seventh print run. If you have an old book like Gone With the Wind, you'll probably find the numbers are more like 99 98 97 96 95 94.
