Can anyone recommend an Epic/Legend book for a 6th grade boy's book report? Something around 200 pages. Thank you.
Answer
Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan is probably the kind of book he's looking for. It has a lot to do with Greek mythology and has to do with the epic battles, save the world, yadda, yadda.
Here are some books which don't really fall under that genre but will probably work for a boy his age:
There's the Inkheart series (fantasy) by Cornelia Funke. There's two sequels called Inkspell and Inkdeath. It's about a girl who learns that the books that she reads are actually real stories that take place in other worlds. There's a movie coming out real soon too.
The Chloe and Levesque Series and The Mike and Riel series were the books my friends and I were reading in the eighth and seventh grade. They're a collection of mysteries all solved by Chloe and Mike. I love them because they're so suspenseful and I almost never manage to figure out the culprit until the very end when they finally tell me.

Reading suggestions for 6th grade boys reading at a 9th grade level?
ms_nikki24
I have two 6th grade boys and both read at the 9th grade level.
One really likes books involving sports or fantasy (he's read some by Lupica and all the Potter books) and the other is bananas about animals (like Old Yeller and Red Dog).
I'm trying to find books at their level that they'll still enjoy!
Anyone have any suggestions?
Answer
I think you should go on Amazon and do a search under one of their favorite books then look down below and they have lots of books that others have purchased and they are typically similar genre.
Suggestions:
Bartimeus Trilogy : Golemns Eye etc..
The Alchemist: Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel
Mysterious Benedict Society
Eragon/Edlest etc...
