Proud momm
I'm babysitting a 3 yr old and i have a 3 month old, does anyone have any ideas for me to entertain her during the day while still being able to give my 3 month old the attention she needs. Any games, crafts, ect..
She's not allowed to watch tv.

I say, set up a little craft area. Throw a vinyl table cloth either on a table or on the floor (I throw mine on the floor...it is easier for them to just sprawl out). Get some crayons, washable markers, a coloring book, and some blank paper. I would say finger paints, but with a 3 month old you may not be able to drop everything to wash her hands before she starts making handprints on everything when she's done.
Maybe you can have her make a Valentine's day decoration. Pre-cut a heart, and have her color it, glue things to it, and/or put stickers all over it. ANother idea I did with my child is I pre-cut a big heart, a nose, eyes, a mouth, 4 long strips of paper for the legs and arms, and feet (they can be circles). She her how to fold the legs and arms into accordians so they spring out. Not sure if she can handle paste or glue yet by herself. (maybe a glue stick?)
Also, don't forget about PLAYDOUGH!!! Just have her restricted to the table or the table cloth area.

What books should an 8 yr old read?
Vada
My mother likes to give my nephew books at a 3 yr old level. I become very upset because she doesn't give him books that a child his age should read. I wanted to get him the Roald Dahl collection of books because I read all of them in the 4th grade. She gets upset with me when I tell her he needs to read books on his level. I think that she is holding him back from learning. He has already been left back and I want him to be able to be up to speed but she just doesn't understand. My mother has custody of him. How can I get her to understand that he should get books and let me help him more with his reading?
