I am intelligent as well but not in the same way he is. i read many book/poetry and go to academic camps all summer while he's great at programming and video games. we know each other and make eye contact very often ( like 7-8 times a day...or more) but I just don't know how to push it forward without seeming creepy. Oh and he is one year older than me and we are in high school! thanks so much for the advice!

Be confident. It doesn't matter if you guys are interested in different things or there's an age gap (one year isn't much anyhow). Just be ballsy and go for it. Leave a note that says that you think he's cute and your number or just go up to him and ask if he'd like to go get a cup of coffee or lunch with you.
It's not creepy at all. And if he likes programming and video games, I would say you should look up some of that, even if it's just reading a wiki summary. Guys like to help girls out so if you are clueless, he will be happy to explain to you (just make sure you stay interested!). But it also gets awkward if we don't know any of this interests at all. First meeting should just talk about stuff he likes, etc or even try to learn some of that beforehand. It's best to have some common ground. Common ground can even be talking about the classes or teachers or even students in certain classes you have together. School is a great common ground.
It's hard to make the first move, but go for it. If you wait and just act coy, etc. there's a risk he won't be pick up and someone will ask him first instead.

A decent literary award, mind.
Sometimes I'll read a book and at the back I'll notice something like, "Winner of a such and such award." And I always end up thinking, this won an award?
Not that they're bad books, but they don't seem to be GREAT books.

So It Does Happen a lot While Reading a Book or poetry Or watching a Movie. Some Times It Does not Click At All. Its Just Because We have a Different Point Of View about Those Particular things. That's It.
But If Those are Award Winning Then They Surely Have Something Which Got Clicked with Others Minds.
