I'm looking for a good historical fiction book for my girlfriend. I don't read much but she enjoys things that could tie things like Shakespeare, Galileo, and other famous historical figures (or events) into the a fiction book. I'm looking to buy her a book or two as a small part of her christmas present so any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

My 12 year old niece needs some books to read and she loves historical fiction. She wants some books like the Royal Diaries Collection or the Dear America series if that would be possible. So does any one know any good books for her?

Anything by Carolyn Meyer. She's a historical fiction writer. My favorite is "Loving Will Shakespeare" and her other books, "Beware Princess Elizabeth", "Patience Princess Catherine", "Mary, Bloody Mary", and Something Anne Bolyn. They're REALLY good.
