A New Guy
Part of my New Year's Resolution this 2009 is to inform myself more on the history of the US and our politics and government. I was interested in knowing which are some great books to read or possibly other sources to look into so I can get a good set of knowledge down. Thanks everyone for your responses.

Where can I read about the history of DC and Marvel trading cards?
Charlie
Does anyone know of any Ultimate Trading Card Encyclopedia? I don't really care about sports cards...in fact all I care about are DC and Marvel cards. I just want a book that covers all superhero cards dating back from say, 1940's Superman Gum inc. trading cards all the way through to say, the 1966 Topps Batman trading cards and into present day. I'm not looking for a price guide or even a guide...I really just want to read about the history of all these great card sets. Anyways, just though I would ask to see if anyone knew of any great book or website, preferably a book, that covered things like that, and if there is a book or site, but it has all sports cards as well, that is fine to. Thanks so much everyone!
Answer
No comprehensive book exists. Many articles have been written over the years, but they are scattered all over the place in publications like Sport Collector's Digest and The Wrapper. You'll pretty much have to look up each set you're interested and go through the search results until you find histories of the sets themselves.
