I'm planning on walking cross-country and would like to stop in used bookstores along the way. What would be the best way to locate the stores that will be along my route?

I have tried to research if there is a website that has lists of bookstores all over the country and this is the one I have come up so far which I think would help you as you travel.
The file can be download but they charge $40 for it. The title is "Top 700 Independent Bookstores Data Files"---This list started out as 500, then 600, then 700, and now almost 800 top general bookstores. It includes names of the book buyers and event coordinators, address, phone, fax, email, website, and other information about each bookstore. You will be able to download six different formats (your choice of one or all) as well as an information sheet to let you know what is contained in the various data files (Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, comma-delimited ASCII, tab-delimited ASCII, dBase, and rich text format). Data file download, $40.00. If you find any errors in any listing, we guarantee to hunt down the error and correct it for you immediately.

I'm thinking minor travel,spending time with my family, hanging out with friends, lots of swimming, the usual. Also, July 4th fireworks show and picnic plus my cousin's birthday.I'm also planning on reading a TON of books(I made a list) and writing my own story. What about you guys? Chillaxing or adventure? Consider visiting New Orleans. NOLA is one of the world's special places with an ambience unique in North America, and remains so even after Katrina devastated it in 2005.
Katrina flooded about 80% of New Orleans with salt water, and the water stayed for almost a month. Much of the city is still struggling to recover and all you have to do to see devastation is drive around. It will take years for NOLA to fully recover from Katrina.
However, the parts of the city that tourists usually visit were not flooded. It's not a coincidence - the French Quarter and other old parts of the city were built on relatively high ground and only suffered wind damage from Katrina. Almost all of the damage has been repaired and you have to look closely in the FQ and city center to see that Katrina happened at all. You should visit and see for yourself.
You can drink the water, the electricity & phones work, and services like the post office, hospitals, schools, police/fire/EMS, and stores & shopping centers are operating.
Municipal services like street cleaning
