What type of audience does The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo aim at?

Im a 20 year old male and I have seen this book and its sequels everywhere, from bookstores to grocery stores and even at a local CVS. My personal tastes in books ranges from Hunter S Thompson to Philip K Dick. As for movies Im all about great film. Im just curious if I would be someone who would be interested in this series. I really know nothing about the books and havent actually heard anything about them.

Can someone recommend books good for teens/young adults?

I'm 16 years old and I want to get into reading a little bit more. Some books that I enjoy are Catcher in the Rye, the Great Gatsby, It's kind of a funny story, etc. I enjoyed the movie Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and I think I want to read the book, and the Hell's Angels book, by Hunter S. Thompson. I also want to read the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, after I'm done reading the book that I'm reading right now in class, because I don't want to distract myself with more than one book at once. I'm also really interested in Hippies. Can anyone recommend me any books that would be my taste? I'm not really into girly books or emo/manga whatever all that stuff is that's in the Teen section in Barnes and Nobles. Also maybe some books that would give me a positive outlook on life, or that would change my way of thinking? Sorry if I'm asking for a lot but if anybody answers thank you n_n <3
